Oxford appoint Ramsey

Oxford United have announced former Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey as their new head coach.

Ramsey has previously held coaching roles with the Welsh national team and taken interim charge of boyhood club Cardiff City.

Speaking after his appointment, Ramsey said: Its an honour and privilege to be appointed head coach of Oxford United.

From my discussions with the club, I can sense the ambition and desire for success, which gives me great excitement about this opportunity.

"This is a moment I have been preparing for over many years. Ive played under some of the best managers in the game and experienced high-pressure environments throughout my career.

Arsenal 'confident' of Rogers pursuit

Arsenal are 'confident' of beating Chelsea and Manchester United to the signing of Morgan Rogers, according to The Times.

The Times also says that Arsenal are yet to contact Villa.

Meanwhile, The Times are also reporting that Arsenal are interested in Julin Alvarez and while 'Atletico do not want to sell to Barcelona...[they] could potentially be offered a swap deal involving the Arsenal forward Viktor Gyokeres.'

Arbeloa the frontrunner for Fulham

Fulham are close to agreeing terms with Alvaro Arbeloa to become their new head coach, Your Site News understands.

Discussions over a three-year deal are understood to be very advanced and Arbeloa is said to be keen to succeed Marco Silva.

Fulham vice-chair Tony Khan - son of owner Shahid Khan announced last week that the club have been speaking to two leading candidates.

That remains the case, Your Site News has been told, with Arbeloa the frontrunner but the identity of the other candidate - and how far along negotiations are with them - unknown.

Arbeloa left Real Madrid a few weeks ago having been interim head coach following the sacking of Xabi Alonso.
